My dad had dementia for 3 years before he died in 2015 and this is the exact genre of stuff he would ramble on about in the nursing home. If I gained 10 lbs between visits he would ask if I was pregnant. In related news, my father did not have the nuclear codes.

Yeah, I was just going to say, both “vortices” and “vortexes” are perfectly valid *plural* forms of “vortex”, but using “vortice” for the singular form is a linguistic abomination that should be stricken from everyone’s lexicon with extreme prejudice.
