Really speaks to the impotence of Congress that the president thinks he can simply sign an executive order invalidating a law that Congress passed -- and he signed -- just a few months ago. At worst, SCOTUS might slap his hand months or years from now -- well after the damage has been done.

I'd like to think we have the bandwidth to act on many fronts simultaneously. But the idea of acting immediately, even if vetoed by the convicted felon, is spot on. It puts the burden on Trump.

Winning Congress would be a start. But I’d want to see actual oversight, subpoenas, hearings, and some real answers from this administration. Trump has gotten far too comfortable treating congressional scrutiny like an optional inconvenience.
