Janet, isn’t it interesting how cats (and humans) can have such opposite feelings and opinions? I hope your feelings aren’t hurt by Amanda avoiding you. She has her reasons, though they seem misguided. I still hold out hope that you’ll be friends some day.

(Janet) The other day I saw Amanda on the plot next to mine. I didn't do anything to scare her but I knew she was frightened of me. As soon as she saw me she left the plot and went back to the veranda. I've always been shy around humans but I don't mind other cats. Amanda is the opposite.
