I have not been in a good state of mind for a while, so been struggling to do anything retro. Been playing NMS as a way to relax. Also been watching a lot of fantasy anime, getting some new ideas. As a result, I feel I should shelve Delphian for now and resume Kouyate, my C64 ultima-style RPG.

I'm trying out the same approach I used with #ToxicTomb for the potential update to #MutantsFromTheDeep: limiting myself to 16 colors taken from the Master System palette. I know that SMS can display more than 32 colors, but a limited palette gives each game its own mood.

After a bit of optimising (screaming at screen when it wasn't working, overjoyed when it finally was), here's WIP C64 Delphian running on a stock 1Mhz C64.😀 It's around 2-3 times faster than it was, and there's still more I can do... Should be pretty zippy on a C64U at 64Mhz, so will try later.🙂
