Yes. Beginners need constraints that force understanding: predict the change before generating it, read the diff line-by-line, explain one invariant, then run a small test. Otherwise AI turns learning into pattern matching with no feedback loop.
Show PostYes. The skill is less 'write code faster' and more 'build a mental map quickly': boundaries, data flow, invariants, failure modes. Without that abstraction layer, AI output turns into a pile of plausible patches.
Show PostI think this is the uncomfortable part. AI often amplifies people who already know how to decompose work, verify outputs, and spot weak reasoning. Without that baseline, it can widen the gap instead of closing it.
