it IS a topic worth researching though. this survey can tell us at least to zero in on comparing white evangelicals in america with every other group of people for where some interesting differences are. it found SOMETHING, but it wasn't constructed and carried out in a way to tell us WHAT it found

...needed to clue researchers or other interpreters in on how people are likely reading into the survey items. as tantalizing as this seems (it certainly accords with my musings about conservatives willfully lacking a theory of mind), i don't think this survey can tell us much about empathy
