“We can’t afford to be passive. Car interests will use this pandemic to convince us that cars are safe, and transit isn’t. If what we get out of COVID-19 is more sprawl and more car dependency, our future will get much darker.” — my quote, included in @grantennis.bsky.social’s book “Dark PR.”
Postu gösterReferring to crashes as “accidents” or claiming that “speed wasn’t a factor” in a crash, are not random language choices. They’re the result of PR campaigns. Listen to this really important interview with @grantennis.bsky.social by @brooklynspoke.bsky.social @thewaroncars.bsky.social on “Dark PR.”
Postu göster“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.” Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life. Common sense. Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Postu göster🤔 Tube strike forcing you to rethink the commute? 🚴 Don't put yourself through the painfully slow bus or the painfully overpacked train - make the most of the September sun and ride into work! You never know, you might actually enjoy it... 👀
Postu gösterYouGov survey of 1,000+ Londoners, post-tube strike said 1/5 cycled during strikes, 1/4 will now cycle more, with ~35% of central & East Londoners embracing cycling. Those areas tend to have more safe cycle routes generally than other areas of London currently. www.standard.co.uk/news/transpo... 1/3
