That means for OpenAI to keep operating in any way shape or form, they need commercial investment. They need to take the company public, because they're set to blow through $10 billion this year alone. And here comes Musk, the supreme technology understander.

Their only hope to keep the lights on is to keep getting investors to dump money into the company and then something something they make C-3PO. Outside investment firms are running dry. Softbank tends to be the idiot investor of last resort.
