Happy Manatee Appreciation Day, to all who celebrate! In Portuguese a manatee is called peixe-boi (or “bull fish”) and in Dutch zeekow (or “sea cow”). And in English a group of manatees can be known as an aggregate of manatees (though I think a better term would be either a “manateam” or “manytees”)

Genuine question: What is the best theory for why the UAW supports the auto tariffs when most analysis finds they will cost U.S. auto jobs? (Theory could be most analysis is wrong.) Bonus q: Under what scenario would tariffs help auto jobs/wages while hurting auto stock prices?
