Schools do teach that the Civil War was fought over slavery. And even if somehow he missed that in 6th grade, and again in 9th grade Civics (he's old enough to have a real Civics class), he should know the basic answer to that question is yes. If he doesn't know, he should be recalled. Voted out.
Show PostOh I'm not saying it shouldn't be taught. I agree that it should be in the curriculum. The issue at question is whether this congressman knows basic US history as it applies to slavery, and I would wager he does. Just general stuff. Does he know about Tulsa? Maybe, maybe not. But he should.
Show PostFLASHBACK: “Was the civil war fought over slavery?” REP. MIKE SPARKS (R): “I haven’t really studied it… we all need to study our history…🤔” (He backed keeping the KKK Grand Wizard bust in our capitol… up for re-election again in Rutherford County😬)
Show PostWSJ: Katie Zacharia has never passed the bar exam in the U.S.. She failed the test in California in 2011. Once she moved to China, she served as an international legal consultant, which did not require passing the bar.
