What I find ironic is that: C exists and even more popular than C++ (at least according to TIOBE). Successful 2D games exist. Closed source exists. What is he even talking about?

It occured to me just the other day - capitalism means that AI will only bring an immense flood of the barely-acceptable level of slop for as much as you're willing to pay. That's the BEST case scenario. Every profit driven entity will use it to give you less and will do it as cheaply as possible.

Since a dev shared his game concept last month, Steam has been flooded with vibe-coded slop clones. This is what "democratising creativity" actually looks like. Even with AI, your ideas are worthless as long as they can be plagiarised at scale. Gen AI was designed for plagiarism, NOT creativity.
