Maybe my viewpoint here is biased bc I know so many folks at the Lab of O past and present, but they operate pretty separately as a nonprofit and have their own board and stuff. Their leadership is separate from the mess of the university's admin AFAIK.

My general feeling is it's kind of misdirected to aim the rightful anger at the university admins, at the Lab. For all the great work the Lab does, they're ultimately a small part of a massive university, the admin of which will not notice, let alone care, if everyone deletes eBird and Merlin.

But also I assume the students and faculty at the lab are also very pissed, and if they say to boycott, I'd follow their lead on it.
