overwhelmingly, the "anti-woke" corporations in this country are *not* the big traditional multinationals, nor are they even specifically technology (we've seen firms like Apple capitulate to fascists, but not become fascists) they're specifically the wave of post-dotcom corporations

and, yeah, and that's unusual and a big problem and it's because those are giant publicly traded companies that are allowed to act like small privately held firms because of how their controlling stock are held by specific right-wing dudes with special privileges

I think when people think about the "tech industry" in a negative/pejorative way, they really are referring to specifically companies that didn't exist 20 or 30 years ago founded during the dotcom or social media era, and that those companies in general are meaningfully unusual
