This paper showed that an ocean model with very high vertical resolution (dz~50m below 3800m) is required to resolve AABW spreading into the South Atlantic. But, none of the mainstream ocean models used today has such fine vertical resolution in the deep ocean. 🌊🧪 os.copernicus.org/articles/22/...
