Yes, and of course there is no such thing as silence and that’s what was so amazing about the lockdown - hearing birds and insects etc instead of incessant machine-made noise

Now that everyone has portable communication devices, I can't see that any alarm needs to sound on site for more than 5 minutes. It should alert the owners or other responsible people and go quiet after a short, fixed time.
