Haven't seen that pic for a while, but I said recently that the compressed gas upside-down car and the Tesla in orbit have exactly the same meaning: a technically difficult (very expensive) theatrical gesture that has no connection whatsoever with any future product or service.

This is an issue that's been percolating in that space for a while. Its the new clothes they are dressing up culture war issues in: "real love is warning people of their sinful (non conservative) beliefs leading to hell." They have been trotting it out for everything from homophobia to tax policy

Yes, it feels like it's just detecting what is the most fundamental thing about their belief system. Jamie Whyte's "Bad Thoughts" has a good chapter on this. It reminds me a bit of "We should avoid excessive use of X", which is trivially true for any X if the respondent gets to define "excessive".
