My Dad was a Republican for 50 years but unenrolled as soon as Repubs made Donald Trump their candidate in 2016. He said his politics hadn't changed in 50 years but the Republican party just kept moving further and further to the right until he realized that Republicans no longer share his politics.

I will never, ever, vote republican again. They've lost people like me, people who have voted both ways in the past. Now that they've shown who they really are, I'm gone. Vance can be a lame duck; if Dems take the House and Senate and don't make removing Trump from office their first task, they won't still be there in 2028. If they don't have both chambers, fine, but if you have the votes and don't remove him, in my book, that's treason by inaction.
