I'd rather be addicted to Codeine than in pain every waking moment. I'm 30 years sober from alcohol and was an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for years, a clinical coordinator of a halfway house and sponsored dozens of addicts. Not to mention, Codeine doesn't get you high if you're in pain.
