An excellent piece. I'm not sure where I'd place Field Music's sideline as the Doors in your two categories. Brewis obviously mimics Morrison (he sees it as an 'acting' role), and yet I'm loath to label an excellent band in their own right as 'kitsch'. www.theguardian.com/music/2025/a...
