Kinda think the only way to deal with AI in higher ed is to hire a fuckton of professors to teach small classes with lots of in-class engagement and assessment. Maybe we could divert some of the millions going to OpenAI to buy the shiniest ChatBoy to, uh, that instead
Show PostAnyway the thing about my ideas isn’t that they’re brilliant, it’s that they’re extremely obvious to anybody using this functionality for like one (1) day, and they’d also be extremely easy to implement.
Show PostI should be able to specify whatever amount I want of *screen* time, not choose between 15 minutes, 1 hour, and the rest of the day of *clock* time.
Show PostI should be able to set multiple downtimes a day. Pre-homework downtime, bedtime to waking downtime. I should be able to hit a button that says “dinner time” to put all my kids’ tablets on downtime for a half hour immediately.
Show PostIf Apple wanted to make their screen time functionality for parents any good, they’d hire me to implement some ideas (they don’t actually want it to be any good because they just want kids playing these things as much as possible).
