I think people have to stop thinking of having large living spaces. Even housing. You don't need a 3000 squ. Ft. house. I have a Little Shack on the Prairie. Less then 1000 squ. ft. I am happy to have a roof over my head. And affordable! Energy wise also.

Remember 50yr guarantee on wooden basements cheaper than concrete? Then 'one owner long term, oops, they're crap, time & effort to replace' Ten years goes quickly. Then rents go sky high again? Need better contracts/promises on those current builds.

In Ontario, that builder would be a Ford crones getting either à free betting site, free cops, or a highway in payback. Hopefully this case in NS is just straight up real.

A range of rents in a large building lets luxury suites offset the lesser income from affordable housing, and avoids creating low-rent neighbourhoods. Now add places for disabled and unhoused to make it a good solution overall.
