Interesting the biggest objection people have to my essay on Jacob Geller is me saying he should have been open about having SA'd someone. "Should he have worn it on his neck?". Yes. Rehabilitation requires accountabilty which requires openness. People just want permission to ignore assault.

jacob geller appears to not have posted his sexual assault mea culpa to his patreon. surely restorative justice would entail actually accepting the consequences of the harm he has done, and not continuing to try to run away from them even as they start to catch up to him, right?

Restorative justice does not put the emotional labor and pressure on the victims. Forgiveness does not mean restoring access. And living with the consequences of your actions has no expiry date if the victim has to do it for the rest of their life. A lot of you should fucking sit with that.
