My daughter is in first grade and has had multiple drills. I asked her if she knew what the drills were for. They tell the children it's in case someone is in the school who doesn't belong there. At what age do you let children know they are hiding from someone who wants to kill them?

I asked my 6 year old granddaughter what she did in school a few weeks ago. She told me they practiced hiding and staying quiet in case a bear got into the school. We shouldn’t have to live like this.
