This is true. One of the questions should be "what can we change about the treatment plan to improve success odds." Because too often people just keep doing the same treatment over and over. And then everyone is surprised when it doesn't work.

One reason early #addiction recovery is difficult is that emotions rise that we've been shoving down via our alcohol/other drug use. And we don't have experience handling them in a healthy way. This is why therapy is a helpful adjunct for many, to learn these skills. #recoveryposse #wedorecover

When a relapse/slip, or almost one, happens, I encourage an analysis. What, exactly, happened? Why did it happen? How can you reinforce your recovery plan so this doesn't happen in the future?
