The best palliative care I can offer my beloved Bug is time in our garden, watching birds eat seeds from the spent sunflowers we planted in the spring and watching the butterflies we cared for as caterpillars flutter around. It's good for us both, and I'm grateful for every second of this time left.

Since getting home, he has wolfed down a ton of food and is now out like a light, waking up occasionally to look at me and purr. The only thing I want for my birthday in October is to have my little guy still with me, still this happy. Thank you for the crossed fingers today. So far, they've worked.
