Right bc if they do, it puts them out of a job and they have to stop valuing White history and language as the most privileged or valuable one. Constructionism means all truths are equal but I still get paid when y’all do group work. They’re still peddling that garbage

That unfortunately is how it crumbles. Trends lead academia. I left 30 yrs ago, in the tangle of truth, power, and perceived value of academic content.“Multiculturalism” was a trendy but patriarchally doled out word that White ppl had a tight control over. we have authentic voices in the convo now.

I'm sad the largest org in my field is forced to manage the (totally legit) concerns from international scholars about entering the U.S. for a conference this year. The reputational damage to the U.S. sucks; far more awful is missing building and learning from the colleagues who feel in danger.
