Here at iNaturalist, we understand that literally all of you said no, but we are excited by the opportunity to handle you because you are just confused. It is hard to rebuild trust but we would like to try by pushing on regardless. The dollar signs in our eyes are simply too large to ignore. 💚

Goodwill is nearly impossible to win back once you've destroyed it. The community wants nothing to do with Google's AI, no matter how it's implemented, it's an unetchical piece of tech made by a company that doesn't care. You -cannot- include it in any way that won't burn your bridges.

I will no longer be using iNaturalist then. How many news stories do we need to understand that AI cannot be trusted to provide factual information, on top of the problem of AI being used as an excuse to cut jobs? You’re going to lose a lot of users and rightfully so.
