I’ve been thinking about the way people get radicalised recently, online but also in dinner parties and professional networks and friendship groups, and I find myself recalling this bit in Screwtape, wh I think is relevant whether you’re Xtian or not. The people you hang out with affect who you are.

you ever have a really stupid joke just refuse to leave you alone? there’s a church right near my house with a “jesus saves” sign and my brain simply refuses to pass by without filling in “passes to moses, he shoots, he scores!” my mind is apparently a novelty t-shirt store
