Thus degradation and collapse are just inevitable. There is simply no physical possibility of a business model that brings in enough revenue to get out of the hole and pay for necessary costs to keep maintaining/updating models. They are not even remotely close to achieving this

Even without that tho, AI companies are several billion in the hole just getting models to perform at the level they do now, but continued upkeep/innovation of models going forward will require a magnitude of borrowed money and new, non-slop data that would just be materially impossible to acquire
