there are both good and bad paths but i also think most state-level actors have an incentive to undermine each other in the arena of open source ai, which makes me optimistic we'll have geniuses you can run on your laptop rather than metered access to geniuses in a server yard controlled by musk

I'm sure this has been said before, but this sort of thing sells me more on UBI. You start to imagine a world where artists can treat creations the same way mathematicians do: as things found which one is happy to see others build on. I would happily give up IP if my family were taken care of.
