some people find these sort of points pedantry but it's hard for me to disagree with any of this! i don't think "no ethical consumption under capitalism" is a good excuse on a personal level, but it exists because there are much broader forces at play here we all like to ignore in order to exist!

This is my primary goal and I offer my criticism under the assumption that this is a goal that is shared, that we're all on the same side and want the same things, and are trying to figure out together the best way of achieving that.

Indie games are a capitalist industry, not an art scene. They're made on Microsoft platforms targeted by BDS, on Unity which has contracts with IDF. At studios hiring employees under the owner instead of forming worker coops. By "solo" devs who exploit freelancers. On hardware sourced from slavery.
