My time living in NYC was bookmarked on one end by 9/11 & the other by Obama's 1st year in office. I had hoped things would improve after 8 yrs of post 9/11 awfulness. and welp

Would a viable counter theory not just be they're awful people? I know it's an oversimplification, but hundreds of years of rewards for exploiters get us here. Prioritizing social experience doesn't make money.
