Andy Burnhams is proposing to introduce workfare for young people. Working with Sainsbury’s, Burnham will create 10,000 ‘work experience opportunities’ over the next year through its program, ‘KickStarter’. Our young people need real jobs not indentured servitude. They deserve work, not workfare.
