The holiday season makes me think about my biological mother and the unique circumstances surrounding my birth. It’s a sad story, and I’ve been trying to reconcile it since I first learned about it in high school. Earlier this year, I wrote about the made-for-TV movie based on what happened.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I opted for a mammogram at 40 when my PCP said I could wait until 45. My cancer was caught early. Because of my experience, a bunch of my friends have had their first mammograms. Get your screenings, friends.
