Nine years ago, I began reading books from every country of the world (131 down, 66 to go), & one thing I've noticed is that styles - naturally - differ widely from place to place. When one's stylistic expectations are shaped by one cultural geography, other styles can be difficult to appreciate.

Why come my autocorrect tries to correct me when I go out of my way to type -in' instead of -ing? Who is accidentally hitting the apostrophe, which requires long-pressing the "x" key on this phone, when they're going for the "g"?
