Welcome to Michigan’s oldest lighthouse, and the 2nd oldest on the Great Lakes— Fort Gratiot, built in 1814. Its 1st Fresnel lense (4th order) came from France in 1857. The light is now automated. #FresnelFriday Photo taken in June 2021.

Best #Mets game you’ve seen in person? For me it was the Benny Agbayani game at good old Shea. #LFGM #LGM #MLB #Baseball #NYC

Arguably Michigan’s most famous lighthouse in Holland. Nicknamed “Big Red” has been standing since 1870. Photo was taken at Holland State Park June 2024. While no longer having a Fresnel lens, the 6th order original can be seen at the Netherlands Museum in Holland, MI. #FrsnelFriday
