This is quite cool. My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). That cannot have been easy for our heroic IT people so hats very much off to them!

We don’t talk enough about what an absolutely disaster linking health insurance to employment is for social movements. We could have so many more fierce voices speaking truth to power & fighting for change if we weren’t beholden to risk-adverse institutions to keep ourselves & our families healthy

Excited to announce that I've signed a contract with @mitpress.bsky.social for a new book! It's about ImageNet, a dataset of 14 million photos. Without it, we likely wouldn't have "AI" as we currently know it. I've been thinking about this book for over 5 years, and am excited to finally write it.
