Tonight Alberta is holding a referendum for independence. To me it is just so stupid on its face. Alberta has no ports. It's in the middle of Canada. It is depended on surrounding provinces to move goods to and from Alberta. It's like if North Dakota seceded from the Union. Nuts!

We're all tired in Alberta ... but if the separation question is strongly defeated, I don't think there's going to be any grace or sympathy left for the separatists. I certainly won't have any.

I naively turned on CBC looking for some reasonable coverage of the referendum but that is a bridge too far for CBC. They keep trotting out loser after loser saying the most trite/inane things, as if Alberta isn't looking like a backwater hillbilly joke that the rest of Canada is laughing at. #sad
