I remember meeting him at GDC only like a year or two after Braid blew up, and I asked him for an autograph to add to my collection (Which included Miyamoto, Gaben, Yu Suzuki, etc.) and he refused, saying he "wanted the game to stand on its own merits, not be tied to a personality" or something.
