Honestly, the primary thing Pendragon taught me was that if you're going to make a wish fulfilment fantasy series for young people, you *really* want to keep the door open for that wish fulfilment *in the conversation with your reader*.

How I learned the death penalty is always immoral. 🧵 When I was writing for Law & Order, I did an episode about the death penalty. One of our tech advisors was the ME who ID’d the bodies after 9/11. He was also a cantor at his synagogue. Great guy. And very very smart.
