I agree (and was aware of the conclusion of this case). Why agree to provide an apology and forfeit 2 months salary if this was a nothing-burger?! Charges were withdrawn due to that "settlement", and not (entirely) because he was not guilty. Speaks to the integrity requirement for politicians.

It’s so alarming that Police Chief Stubbs made a public appeal for drivers to slow down. I am so fed up with this "End the War on Drivers" nonsense. We can improve transportation for everyone without pitting road users against each other. Drivers should be mad at gas prices, not road safety! 2/7
