HRT alters your phenotype and endocrine system and shifts it to its cis counterpart, often into indistinguishability. It DOES alter the most visible parts of one's sex. Trying to explain that away because it makes cis folks uncomfortable is at best unhelpful and at worst medically dangerous.

So many people buried their heads in the sand this week saying that NHS segregation of trans people was "for their safety". But even internal NHS assessments say it will cause direct harm. Sex is not binary and trans people need respectful care based on actual physiology, not anti-trans slogans.

I don't think the UK is ready to acknowledge that illiberal, deadly things are being done to trans people out of hatred, and that they swallowed absurd justifications for it because it was easier to.
