There are alot of problems, too many to discuss here. I'll hopefully be discussing it on my podcast soon with Robert Biel.

KNF, permaculture, "do nothing" farming, there's all sorts of sloganeering I don't care to remember.

There is nothing inherently wrong with monocropping. In fact, it is preferable in most cases as crops have specific demands, making fertilizer applications/trellising/harvesting more feasible. Interplanting and sister crops work fine in small-scale systems but don't scale well.

Yeah, there's nothing inherently wrong with monocropping. People just equate monocropping with industrial agriculture, usually "permaculture" grifters. There are alot of grifters in the permaculture sphere. Unfortunately, there's alot to parse through in agricultural sciences.
