Short answer: probably annoyed and frustrated. On the other hand the cost of code is going down and I think I gotta start rethinking all of this. Fascinating things are happening!

Old habits will likely need to be relearned for sure. I find it ironic that when folk have ported my work in the past, I was delighted. I felt that if they were prepared to go to that effort, it was the ultimate compliment. But with AI it feels like plagiarism.

Well, except "derived" is up to judges to define in the US and very little is known in the EU. I'm sure we will see new rulings on this. It's not even clear to which degree AI generated code can be copyrighted.

Good. I hope the family sues the shit out of the individual agents who were operating outside their deemed authority. Wrongfully detaining and imprisoning a man who was completely innocent of any crime. Forced entry. Assault.
