- Gaiman has his own career and fans of his own work, but Pratchett was an absolute giant whose death left a massive void, and it often seems like Gaiman has attempted to position himself as somewhat of an inheritor to that British SF/Fantasy throne which PTerry left behind 11/?

Those are all basic observations, and I haven't bothered to find examples (but his twitter exists...), the point is that I sometimes wonder whether Gaiman hasn't been at least somewhat inflating his relationship with PTerry in order to capitalise on his position in British SF/Fantasy spheres 10/?

Very often he does this without being asked for his opinion, and in ways which seem generally designed to inflate his perceived proximity to PTerry and paint himself in a favourable light 9/?

Gaiman also often takes it upom himself to speak for him in internet discourse (saying things like "terry would have loved this"/"would have thought xyz about this") and making appeals to emotion ("I hope terry would be proud" type of thing, particularly when it comes to GO) - 8/?

I'm also generally suspicious of the way Gaiman often seems to imply that the GO writing process was a 50/50 collab, while Pratchett is on record saying he ended up doing more like 70% of the actual writing because there were many essential linking bits that Gaiman didn't want to do - 6/?
