YOU may not vote against something, but that doesn’t mean that others shouldn’t. If you want to stand in front of your burning house and deny water being offered to you so that you can wait for the fire department instead while more of your house burns, that’s certainly your choice to make.

What’s a catastrophe for the political health of the country is that people think we’re in a position where a vote against authoritarianism is optional. “Earn my vote” is all good and well under *normal* circumstances, but not a luxury that we currently have.
