Germany's postwar order was built by a constitution with a lot of guardrails and a denazification process that actually ran through courts, not a purge list. Hungary is a different case: Fidesz captured the courts, media and electoral rules, and the fix is restoring checks, not banning a party.

Yes they do and creating a nebulous category of ppl who have no rights is the exact opposite of how we reconsolidate this democracy. This is a justification for mass repression when what we need is a mixture of targeted prosecutions and wide-ranging reforms that rip up MAGA power by the roots.

I vastly prefer this to the message of films like DLU or even Bugonia which have that sneer of "haha humans are so stupid, they all deserve to die!"--which feels like actual nihilism to me, wearing the borrowed clothes of liberalism.
