Also personally, I do wish Nebula said something like "We are choosing to forgive because we acknowledge someone's growth over their mistakes", but they certainly don't have to. (especially when I don't know much about Jacob and whether or not he did change since then)

....I don't get it. He did something horrible, talked to the person he did it to, was punished, and moved on. This was a decade ago. Did anyone else report him? Did something terrible happen recently? Because as far as I understand this is all very much in the past and people are just reacting now

Ah, the liberal ideal: say you support victims, are against punitive prisons & want rehabilitation, & think ex-cons should get another chance, like Dave's Killer Bread...but really you don't care that the victim hasn't spoken yet, & even ten years of showing you're a different person isn't enough
