I was working in Boston at the time and remember people watching the ticker near Faneuil Square. There was lots of anguish that 25-yr old me did not quite grasp. A similar crash now that I’m semiretired is a quite different view. The other weird thing that year was bran muffins.

I was running a small furniture refinishing business then and the work almost completely dried up by 1989. Many small businesses were hurt in that stock market crash, as they are hurting now.
