John is an absolute treasure of a guy. When we were in college together he showed up unexpectedly with short hair one day. I said “whoa, what’s up?” And he said “My mom said she would buy me a banjo if I cut it.” Good deal.

Wrote about @jamie-fisher.bsky.social’s book. The book is great. Not sure about my review; all these years later I’m still angry about how his story ended. (My wife tells me it’s emotionally immature to express anger when you’re actually sad but whatever.)
